Refrigeration Quality Technician

This position works cross-functionally within the organization to improve quality levels to our customers and improve internal processes. The ideal candidate will be very detail oriented and responsible for the inspection of refrigeration systems. This employee should have an advanced understanding in the refrigeration/HVAC industry. Have an advanced understanding on how to read wiring diagrams, brazing, and an overall understanding of a quality refrigeration product. To do that, they need to understand how various refrigeration units work and how to interpret technical instructions.

Job Summary

•    Ensure work instructions are being followed consistently.

•    Experience building Work Instructions

•    Ability to read a wiring diagram

•    Troubleshoot refrigeration systems 

•    Ability to braze copper (preferred not required)

•    Understanding of the refrigeration unit and how the unit works

•    Observe and test systems to ensure they work properly

•    Inspect final product for accuracy

•    Understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 QMS Standard

•    Perform PPAPs on incoming parts from suppliers

•    Participating in kaizen team support as necessary. 

•    Participate in facility Gemba walks and execute quality actions that get assigned

•    Facilitate training on internal and customer specifications on product quality 


Minimum Job Qualifications

•    High school diploma or equivalent

•    Previous experience working with either refrigeration systems or HVAC systems

•    Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical instructions

•    Ability to use various tools without needing supervision

•    Excellent customer service skills

•    Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

•    Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

•    Project Management skills

•    Computer Literacy required

•    Ability to communicate well across all functional areas
