Ortho/Cast Technician - Orthopedic Center

Schedule: Monday- Friday (Day Shift)

No on-call, No holidays, No weekends. Must have dependable transportation.

• Prepares patients for orthopedic procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort during the procedure.
• Applies and removes casts, splints, and braces as directed by the physician.
• Assists physicians in the reduction of fractures and dislocations.
• Orders and maintains inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment and instruments to ensure patient safety.
• Maintains accurate patient records and ensures that they are up-to-date.

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Certification from a Medical Assisting Program, STNA, or equivalent, preferred.

Excellent customer service, interpersonal, andcommunication skills.

• One year previous healthcare experience, preferred.
• Experience as Orthopedic Cast Tech, Suture Tech, or EMT, preferred.

OCCASIONALLY: Bend/twist, Biohazard waste, Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Chemicals/Medications, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Decision Making, Driving motor vehicles (work required) *additional testing may be required, Flexing/extending of neck, Fume /Gases /Vapors, Lifting / Carrying: 21-40 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 41-60 lbs, Loud Noises, Patient Equipment, Power Tools, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 26-40 lbs, Squat/kneel, Walking
