- Prepares patients for orthopedic procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort during the procedure.
- Applies and removes casts, splints, and braces as directed by the physician.
- Assists physicians in the reduction of fractures and dislocations.
- Orders and maintains inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment.
- Cleans and sterilizes equipment and instruments to ensure patient safety.
- Maintains accurate patient records and ensures that they are up-to-date.
Education Requirement:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Licensure Requirement:

Certifications:
Certification from a Medical Assisting Program, STNA, or equivalent, preferred.
Skills:
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, andcommunication skills.
Experience:
- One year previous healthcare experience, preferred.
- Experience as Orthopedic Cast Tech, Suture Tech, or EMT, preferred.
