Summary

The Pulmonary Disease Respiratory Therapy Navigator provides clinical support, treatment access, education and coordination of patient-centered care to benefit the patient, family and multidisciplinary physicians while helping achieve optimal outcomes for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary (COPD) patients and their families. This position will serve as the navigator for the medical inpatients that have a diagnosis of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and other pulmonary disease. Work with Pulmonary Clinic to provide targeted care and education for these patients.

The pulmonary disease educator is a respiratory therapist that assesses, treats, and monitors patients with respiratory diseases and conditions. As part of patient assessment and management, the therapist performs聽diagnostic test procedures. In addition, therapists assist in departmental operations by assisting with quality聽improvement projects and development of the pulmonary disease program. The pulmonary disease educator聽follows all applicable rules and regulations established by the licensure board depending on the state in which聽respiratory therapy is practiced.

Qualifications:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Associate or bachelor's degree聽from an AMA Accredited Respiratory Program

路聽聽聽聽聽聽Bachelor's degree聽from an AMA Accredited Respiratory Program preferred

路聽聽聽 Successful completion of the CRT or RRT exam from the NBRC, if not RRT must obtain within 12 months of hire

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Indiana State Respiratory Care Practitioner License

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 BLS certification required, will provide training聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 ACLS certification within 12 months of hire

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 PALS certification within 12 months of hire

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 NRP certification within 6 months of hire
