Our client is seeking an experienced Master Mechanic to oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimization of a wide range of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, tunnel boring machines (TBM/MTBM), and more. The Master Mechanic will serve as a technical expert, ensuring all equipment operates at peak performance, mentoring junior mechanics, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on all types of heavy construction equipment, addressing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
Oversee complex repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, and hydraulic system troubleshooting.
Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently.
Train and guide junior mechanics and operators on proper equipment use and maintenance techniques.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies during all maintenance activities.
Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts inventory, and service histories for all equipment.
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to prioritize repairs and support operational needs.

Qualifications:

Extensive experience (5+ years preferred) as a mechanic working on a diverse range of heavy construction equipment.
Expert-level knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical circuits, and heavy machinery components.
Proficiency with advanced diagnostic tools, welding, and fabrication methods.
Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and service manuals.
High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical certification or trade school training strongly preferred.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage a team.
Physically capable of working in demanding environments, including lifting heavy parts and operating in confined spaces.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with specific equipment brands (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, Liebherr, Hitachi, etc.).
Certification in heavy equipment repair or related fields (e.g., ASE, manufacturer-specific credentials).
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
