SUMMARY 

Compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

 

Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority. 

Communicates with materials manager, plant manager, cell leaders and management to determine overdue material, parts needed and inform them of material status. 

Examines material received, verifies parts numbers, and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts. 

Compares work ticket specifications to material used at work stations to verify appropriate assignment. 

Expedite transfer of materials from stock area to production areas.

Perform cycle counting of materials as required with accuracy.

Ensure that materials are counted and/or weighed with accuracy.

Ensure that first-in, first-out (F.I.F.O) is being followed.

 

Keep all equipment and work area clean.

 

Perform other duties as assigned including assisting co-workers and working in other departments as needed depending on production and business demands.

 

Comply with all work instructions, safety policies, and standards of conduct.

 

 QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and meet the necessary requirements as listed below.  

 

Must have a strong attention to detail

 

Must be self-motivated and can work independently as well as in a team environment.

 

Must have strong people skills and be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.

 

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

Must be able to manage multiple tasks and/or priorities and easily adapt to changing situations

 

Must be computer literate and knowledgeable with MS Word and Excel. 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 
 Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.   

REASONING ABILITY 
 Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 


 

SHIFT HOURS REQUIRED

Monday - Thursday 6:30am – 5:00pm,
