About the Role:
Project Independence Services Inc is looking for a compassionate and dedicated CNA/Program Assistant to join our team in New Bedford, MA. Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene support
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility support as needed
  • Monitor and document client health status, behaviors, and progress
  • Support program activities and engage clients in meaningful therapeutic and recreational activities
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, healthcare staff, and family members regarding client needs
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for all program participants
  • Follow individualized care plans and adhere to all agency policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in direct care, home health, adult day programs, or similar settings preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic approach
  • Ability to assist with physical tasks including lifting and transferring clients
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining client dignity and confidentiality
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Must pass a background check in accordance with state requirements
