The short version

Everybody on our shop floor tells us the same thing: when materials arrive on time, are staged where they need to be, and are tracked accurately, everything else works. When they don't, nothing does. We're creating a new role to own that function from end to end.

You'd report to our Controller, work directly with the Production Manager and Manufacturing Engineer, and be the person who makes sure materials, purchasing, inventory tracking, and logistics all run cleanly. This isn't a slot in a pre-built process. It's a foundation role you'd build.

Who we are

H. Loeb Corporation is a job-shop manufacturer in the Dartmouth / New Bedford area of Massachusetts. We diecut, CNC route, and produce custom foam packaging — primarily for the lighting industry. We're ISO 9001:2015 certified, owner-led, and growing 20 to 30 percent every year.

Since 2008, our owner has reinvested more than $2 million into new equipment. When we grow, our people grow with us. That's the deal.

Who you'd work with day-to-day

Your manager: our Controller. She'll manage you directly and is building the segmented profitability and inventory tracking work you'd support.
Our Production Manager. He'll partner with you on operational priorities. You'll take a lot of the material-availability firefighting off his plate.
Our Manufacturing Engineer. He's currently doing inventory tracking and purchasing follow-up on the side. You taking that over lets him focus on new part development and quality.
Our Die Cutting and CNC Supervisors. You'll stage materials for their teams so they can focus on running production and developing their operators.
Our Shipping & Receiving lead. You'll take receiving handoffs on inbound materials.

What the work actually looks like

A hybrid role. About half your day is physical, half is at a desk. Here's the rough shape:

~25% putting materials away — staging received materials in their designated locations.
~20% inventory in Visual ERP — entering, maintaining, and reconciling inventory data.
~20% purchasing — placing POs against existing suppliers, following up on deliveries, coordinating vendor communication.
~15% returning materials — reverse logistics, unused material put-back.
~10% counting and labeling — physical inventory counts, material labeling, parallel tracking outside the accounting system.
~10% logistics — LTL scheduling, delivery coordination, resolving freight issues.

You get variety. You get to be on your feet AND you get to sit at a desk. If you like being tied to one or the other exclusively, this isn't the right role.

Where this role could go

This is the foundation role for the planning/inventory/purchasing function at H. Loeb. As the company grows — we're heading toward $6.5M in revenue this year, on the way to $8M+ — this function grows with us. Your role could evolve toward Supply Chain Coordinator, Materials Manager, or a broader operations role over time. You'd be shaping what that looks like.

What you bring

3 to 7 years experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or inventory environment.
Comfortable with both physical materials work (about half the time) and desk-based ERP/purchasing (the other half).
Basic financial literacy — you understand how inventory and purchasing decisions affect the P&L.
Strong attention to detail — this is the kind of role where getting things right matters more than getting them done fast.
Good communication with vendors, teammates, and management.
High school diploma plus relevant work experience. Degree not required.

Nice to have (not required)

Infor Visual ERP experience — a real plus. If you know the system, you'll ramp faster.
Direct purchasing experience — POs, supplier follow-ups, price negotiations on commodity items.
Forklift certification.
LTL and freight coordination experience.
Construction or trades logistics background — if you've been the one making sure the job site had materials when they needed them, you already know how to do this work.
ISO 9001 environment experience.

$55,000 to $70,000 salary, depending on experience. Where you land in the range reflects your Visual ERP experience, purchasing depth, and manufacturing background.

Comfortably lift and carry 50 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift.
On your feet for about half the day; at a desk for the other half.
Comfortable working around dust, machine noise, and moving equipment.
