Summary: Under direct supervision of the Program Coordinator (PC), the Assistant Program Coordinator (APC) supports the PC in overseeing the daily operations of the day program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for participants. Responsibilities include monitoring participant progress, assisting with activities, and maintaining program standards for quality and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following.

• Assist with ensuring that the assigned area(s) meet or exceed pertinent licensing regulations and accreditation guidelines

• Acts as second to the Program Coordinator and assumes these responsibilities in their absence.

• Assist with ensuring that overall goals and objectives, legal rights, and safety standards are maintained for all day program participants.

• Communicates effectively (face-to-face, verbal, written, digital) and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.

• Assist with developing and maintaining the participants’ records are maintained according to organizational and accreditation expectations.

• Assist with guiding program staff to ensure that quality services are provided to all participants.

• Performs other duties as assigned.


Agency Responsibilities: Supports the strategic planning process and may assist in developing the initiatives to achieve the overall mission and vision of the organization. Participates in organizational committees and meetings. Adheres to St. Coletta policies and procedures.


Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises direct care staff in the absence of the Program Coordinator


Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, one to two years of working experience with people with disabilities. Preferred one year of supervisory or lead experience.


Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn and utilize internal systems and software.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Ability to complete and maintain all required training in accordance with organizational requirements and County, State, and Federal regulations.


Driving Requirements: This position requires that an employee can drive for work purposes and must maintain a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the standards set forth by the organization. This position may require the employee to operate a 15-passenger van and/or lift bus. This position may also require the use of the employee’s personal vehicle, which would require valid vehicle insurance.
