Title: Human Resources Director
Reporting Structure: President, Beverage Division
Position Summary: We're building a dedicated, senior HR function for the first time in years. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required; PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
- 7 years of total HR experience is required; 2-3 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment is required;
- Demonstrated experience managing HR across multiple physical locations/states; strong working knowledge of multi-state employment law compliance (wage & hour, leave law, EEO) is required
- Track record of measurably improving employee retention, not just managing hiring volume
- Comfort operating with real autonomy, reporting to a non-HR executive, without close technical oversight
- Strong time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Bamboo or other HRIS systems is desired.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Retention & Culture: Lead structured exit interviews and diagnose root causes behind employee turnover, particularly in front office roles; Design and implement a repeatable 30/60/90-day onboarding framework, including mentor/buddy pairings; Build sustainable practices, such as regular one-on-ones, feedback loops, visible growth paths, that create long-term employee tenure and trust
- Compliance & Risk Management: Own multi-state wage & hour compliance (FLSA exempt/non-exempt classification, overtime); Track and ensure compliance with leave laws (FMLA and state-specific requirements) across all company locations; Maintain I-9 compliance, EEO/anti-discrimination standards, and general employment law adherence; Own HR-side safety recordkeeping (OSHA 300 log, workers' comp claims, training documentation) in close coordination with Operations, which owns day-to-day floor safety and reporting
- Talent Acquisition: Lead full-cycle recruiting for front office, plant, and lab roles; Hire, onboard, and develop a second HR hire (generalist/associate track); Partner with hiring managers to build strong, consistent hiring practices across all locations.
- Employee Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, investigations, and documentation; Handle performance management and termination processes with appropriate legal diligence; Build trust as a stable, consistent HR presence after a period of frequent HR leadership turnover.
- Compensation & Benefits: -Benchmark pay against market rates, particularly for historically high-turnover roles; Support benefits administration and periodic review of total rewards competitiveness
