Sunshine Schools NC is seeking a dependable and proactive Facility Maintenance & Safety Technician to support our childcare centers in New Bern and Morehead City.

Our goal is simple—we maintain safe, clean, and fully compliant environments where children can learn and grow. This role is essential to ensuring our facilities consistently meet state and local childcare licensing standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs (classrooms, common areas, playgrounds)
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure safety and licensing compliance
• Identify and address maintenance issues before they become larger problems
• Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free environments
• Support readiness for inspections and licensing requirements
• Respond to urgent maintenance needs, including evenings and weekends as needed
• Travel between New Bern and Morehead City locations

Qualifications:
• Experience in general maintenance, handyman work, or facility upkeep
• Strong attention to detail with a safety-first mindset
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Reliable transportation between locations
• Availability for occasional after-hours and weekend work
• Strong reliability and responsiveness

Requirements (Mandatory):
• Must pass NC DCDEE childcare background check
• Must complete required medical screening and TB test
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred:
• Experience working in childcare, schools, or regulated environments
• Basic knowledge of facility systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
