JOB FUNCTION:  

This position will generate, retain, and expand small business lending relationships to new and existing customers through team referrals, center of influence and direct prospecting primarily in the New Braunfels market. Banker will concentrate on small businesses that generate up to $5 million in annual revenues, with a typical loan size up to $250,000 and total loan relationship size up to $1,000,000.00. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate, retain, and expand small business lending relationships to new and existing customers from referrals from the branches and commercial lenders, as well as, centers of influence and direct prospecting, if needed
  • Be a resource for branch team(s) 
  • Assist with credit and deposit needs of an existing loan and deposit portfolio 
  • Cross-sell bank investment, trust, deposit, residential mortgages, and other bank products
  • Analyze financial statements, underwrite credit, prepare credit memos and assist in the preparation of loan presentations
  • Ensure loans are documented and closed properly
  • Ensure loans meet all regulatory and compliance guidelines
  • Manage an existing loan and deposit portfolio 
  • Present loan information to top management and board of directors
  • Participate in community-oriented and professional organizations
  • Assist SBA Manager as needed


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Work Experience

  • 2 years or more of credit analyst experience on commercial real estate and C&I loans to include credit underwriting and loan documentation. 
  • 2 years work experience in the New Braunfels market, preferred
  • Strong Credit analysis and underwriting skills

 

Preferred Experience

  • Thorough knowledge of bank products and services
  • 3 years or more commercial banking experience to include business development and portfolio management.

 

Supervisory Experience

  • N/A


Driving Position

  • Yes, valid driver’s license required


Education/Skills/Experience 

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to provide excellent relationship management and business development/sales skills
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills


Equipment/Machines/Software

  • Excellent computer literacy in all Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) 
  • Proficient in Adobe Reader and IE 7 and 8 and other popular browsers,
  • Ability to work with office equipment such as copiers, scanners, shredders, fax

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups in managing customer relationships
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to connect and networking with business owners and leaders
  • Ability to focus and interpret data to others

 

Physical Requirements

  • Office/Building mobility, good vision, and hearing for traveling to various locations
  • Must be able to verbally speak to communicate with clients
  • Must be able to sit at workstation and looking at PC for extended periods of time, keyboarding/typing
  • Must have reliable transportation and able to travel to make calls in San Antonio and surrounding areas
