Warehouse Driver

Full-Time - Hourly - Non-Exempt

Job Description

As a Warehouse Driver, you will serve as a critical link between our warehouse, metal shop, jobsites, and supplier network at CP Rankin. This is a hybrid role that combines commercial vehicle operation with hands-on warehouse support. You will drive company vehicles over 10,000 lbs to pick up and deliver roofing materials and equipment, while also supporting daily warehouse operations — picking materials, loading trucks, assisting the metal shop, and handling general building support tasks. This role requires a DOT Medical Card, physical stamina, and a team-first mindset.

Responsibilities

Vehicle Operation & Transportation

  • Safely operate company vehicles over 10,000 lbs to transport roofing materials, equipment, and supplies to jobsites, vendor locations, and other company facilities.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT requirements and company policy.
  • Maintain a current DOT Medical Card as a condition of employment and comply with all applicable DOT regulations at all times.
  • Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws as well as company vehicle policies.
  • Pick up materials from suppliers, distributors, and vendors as directed, ensuring accuracy of orders prior to departure.
  • Report vehicle maintenance needs, mechanical concerns, or safety issues to management promptly.
  • Keep assigned vehicles clean, organized, and ready for daily use.

Warehouse Support & Material Handling

  • Pick and stage roofing materials, supplies, and equipment to fulfill project and service orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist in receiving incoming shipments — unload, inspect, and organize materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Load company vehicles and delivery trucks with materials in a safe, organized manner following load securement best practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
  • Support Metal Shop Fabricators with loading, unloading, and staging of fabricated sheet metal components and raw materials.
  • Assist with moving finished products within the metal shop and preparing them for delivery or pickup.
  • Handle materials carefully to protect finished fabrications from damage during staging and transport.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Support additional operational tasks that contribute to a safe, efficient, and functional work environment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
  • Current DOT Medical Card required — or must be able to obtain one prior to start date. Ongoing medical fitness to operate vehicles over 10,000 lbs is a condition of continued employment.
  • Demonstrated experience operating trucks or vehicles over 10,000 lbs required.
  • 1+ years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or construction environment preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment; forklift certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations and commercial vehicle compliance.
  • Physical fitness and stamina are required — this role involves regular lifting, carrying, loading, and physically demanding activities throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds safely and perform physically demanding tasks on a consistent basis.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking, loading, and delivering materials.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious with a team-first attitude.
  • Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions, including seasonal weather.
