Position Responsibilities:

Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions to add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency and sustainability. Initiate and lead engineering audits including on-site visits within Amazon-owned or colocation data centers. Act as resident engineer during new construction projects. Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures. Produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediations. Provide commissioning support for mechanical system level testing and troubleshooting. Support operational issues through ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, critical equipment, and event support. Interface with internal data center teams (operations, design engineering, environmental). Provide recommendations despite uncertainty/ambiguity. Set priorities and meet deadlines and budget. Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Controls, Construction, Design, Commissioning, Product Managers, Technical Program Managers).

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and six years of progressive postbaccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Must have six years of experience in the following skill(s): (1) experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering; and (2) managing engineering projects and consultants. Domestic and/or international travel up to 25% to perform role responsibilities may be required.
