Position Overview

International Motors LLC is looking for a Senior Product Development Associate Lead in the Loads & Complete Vehicle Durability Team.

 

This is a senior technician level position that must have prior hands on vehicle experience with testing, instrumentation, parts swaps, and usage of data acquisition systems.  Technician's role is to work with the test engineers to prepare test vehicles with instrumented parts, set up for data acquisition, perform tests on chassis & tow dyno. 

 

The position is based in our International Proving Grounds Location in New Carlisle, IN. Extensive preparation is needed on site with the vehicles.

 

Travel is expected to support off-site testing, estimated to be about 10% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety inspection upon receipt of test vehicle.
  • Instrumentation of accelerometers and strain gages.
  • Installing instrumented parts to test vehicles.
  • Wiring instrumentation and set up of data acquisition equipment in vehicle.
  • Detailed documentation of instrumentation
  • Perform tests running trucks on chassis dyno & tow dyno
  • High level data analysis to verify collection of good data
  • Ensure equipment is properly stored, maintained and calibrated for testing needs

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and at least 4 years of supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experience experience

OR

  • At least 6 years of experience supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experience experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills

Technical Skills:

  • Extensive experience with heavy commercial truck or passenger vehicle development testing
  • Fabrication and mechanical abilities

Communication Skills:

  • Clearly communicate with test engineers
  • Ability to work a in cross functional team within the shop
