Overview

Join our Baby Friendly accredited hospital where our nurses work as a team and treat each other and our patients like family. We have 24/7 pediatric hospitalist coverage and our board certified OB/GYN physicians deliver on average, 300 babies a year. While most GYN surgeries are performed as outpatients, our unit also cares for women who have had more extensive GYN surgeries. We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits and flexibility. 

Responsibilities

  • Delivers general nursing care to patients from the prenatal period through adolescence, serving the nursing care needs of families as well. 
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatment following approved nursing procedures and physician order. 
  • Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of conditions and significant incidents. 
  • Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examinations of patients. 
  • Assesses patient vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines patient progress. 
  • Has daily responsibility in areas of personnel assignments, supervises licensed and non-licensed personnel, patient placement, cost containment, patient and family education and customer satisfaction. 

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of pathophysiology, the nursing process, nursing interventions, pharmacology, methods utilized for delivering nursing care and the management of patients and personnel  
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Indiana RN licensure required  
  • Ability to interpret fetal monitor rhythms and complete newborn assessments  
  • 2 years of OB experience is preferred  
  • Nursery/Pediatric experience preferred  
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification is preferred, or must be willing to complete
  • BLS certification preferred
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • PALS certification preferred

Working Hours

- Full-Time Weekend Option  - Saturday/Sunday - 7A - 7:30P - One or two additional shifts per pay period - Every other holiday
