Transporter/Aide

Responsibilities

• Works under general supervision in transporting patients from the nursing unit to the Imaging Department for necessary examinations.
• Lifts or transfers patients to carts or wheelchairs (may assist Radiologic Tech in transferring or lifting patients onto exam tables).
• Attends to the needs of the patient while in the Imaging Department.
• Assists in the file room and darkroom as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and record data well enough to follow instructions.
• Knowledge of basic department procedures which is normally acquired through completion of an elementary (8 grades) education.
• Two weeks on-the-job training is required prior to assuming full responsibilities.
