Overview:

Under general direction, coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies, for organization by performing the following duties and responsibilities.

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews requisitions and applies supply chain management best practices.
  • Understands the MRO strategies to maintain uninterrupted facility operations.
  • Skilled at evaluating options and generating solutions.
  • Must be able to understand inventory analysis and M part turns.
  • Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
  • Supports MRO improvement initiatives and performance goals.  Must be able to create BOM’s and update PM’s as required.
  • Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
  • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality, and inventories.
  • Trains and mentors new staff members and provide feedback to supervisor.
  • Plans, directs and maintains proper coverage schedules for Parts Clerks.
  • Functions as Subject Matter Expert for Oracle Interface.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Performs daily open PO report and works efficiently to resolve issues.
  • Expedites delivery of goods to users.
  • Compiles SDS sheets for the maintenance dept.
  • Oversees and updates SQF vendor register on weekly basis.
  • Must work as a team player, ensuring product specifications are attained in a safe and efficient manner and communicate well with other team members.
  • Must follow company’s GMP’s, SOP’s, Plant Rules and Policies.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Strives to satisfy the requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for keeping work area clean and secure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Two-year degree and/or two years of experience in a similar position.
  • Must have the ability to purchase materials, supplies, and tools upon approval of Facility Manager or MRO Buyer.
  • Must have strong computer, customer service, and communication skills to acquire, work with vendors and plant associates, and establish effective inventory control process
  • Ability to direct the work of inventory/PM administrator to control parts, supplies and tools inventories and administer the maintenance management software
  • Ability to work closely with AP office to resolve invoicing issues that may arise

  Language Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to deal with internal and external customers and provide positive solutions.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs. 

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to cold temperatures with wet and humid conditions.  The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals.  The noise level in the work environment is usually office and warehouse based.
