Position: Contract Pipefitter
Location: New Haven, MI
Duration: 3ā6 months (with strong potential for extension)
About the Role:
We are seeking experienced Pipefitters to support ongoing industrial and manufacturing projects at the New Haven facility. This contract involves the installation, assembly, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hydraulic, pneumatic, coolant, and process piping systems used throughout the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
ā¢ Install, assemble, and maintain a variety of piping systems for machinery and facility infrastructure
ā¢ Read and interpret blueprints, piping schematics, and layout drawings
ā¢ Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe using appropriate hand and power tools
ā¢ Work with multiple pipe materials including steel, copper, iron, and plastic
ā¢ Fit and secure pipes using threaded, soldered, welded, and brazed connections
ā¢ Install hydraulic and pneumatic lines, supports, hangers, brackets, and related components
ā¢ Perform pressure testing, leak detection, and corrective repairs
ā¢ Troubleshoot and resolve piping issues to minimize downtime
ā¢ Follow all plant safety guidelines and industry standards during installation and repair work
Qualifications:
ā¢ Previous experience as a Pipefitter in an industrial, construction, or manufacturing environment
ā¢ Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, coolant, or lube systems
ā¢ Ability to interpret detailed schematics, prints, and project documentation
ā¢ Proficient with pipefitting tools such as threaders, benders, cutters, and welding/brazing equipment
ā¢ Experience with system testing and diagnosing leaks or failures
ā¢ Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
ā¢ Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
