About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to oversee daily transportation operations, route planning, driver coordination, fleet maintenance, and regulatory compliance. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring efficient deliveries, operational excellence, and high customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily transportation operations and delivery schedules
- Plan and coordinate weekly delivery routes
- Handle driver call-offs and operational issues as they arise
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and food safety regulations
- Oversee vehicle maintenance and fleet performance
- Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to improve efficiency
- Monitor KPIs and implement operational improvements
- Lead, train, and support transportation team members
- Assist with budgeting and cost control initiatives
- Analyze operational performance and recommend process improvements
- Participate in bi-weekly meetings with company leadership
- Remain available for early morning operational communication when needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of transportation, logistics, or operations management experience
- CDL Class A or driving experience preferred
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Experience with routing/logistics software
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and warehouse operations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
