About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Intelligence Analyst to join the Finance Department at Cornell Scott–Hill Health Center. In this role, you will develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and data analytics that support strategic decision-making and operational performance. The ideal candidate will leverage data insights to enhance financial planning, reporting accuracy, and organizational efficiency while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about data-driven decision-making and committed to supporting community health initiatives through financial and operational excellence.
The Business Intelligence Analyst position is fully on-site.
Key Responsibilities
End User Support:
- Respond to and resolve Finance and EHR Help Desk requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial reporting data to support financial statement preparation.
- Troubleshoot system and application issues, escalating to vendors when necessary.
- Monitor and manage ticketing systems to ensure timely resolution and user satisfaction.
Maintenance/Monitoring:
- Perform troubleshooting, system maintenance, and software upgrades for EHR-related applications.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with clinical and administrative teams.
- Support ongoing EHR enhancements, updates, and system optimization efforts.
- Maintain user accounts, permissions, and system configurations for employees.
Communication:
- Document support activities, workflows, and resolutions clearly and accurately.
- Communicate system issues, updates, and escalation needs to stakeholders and leadership.
- Develop reports and dashboards that support departmental and operational goals.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and maintain professional communication standards.
Training:
- Assist with Epic account setup and user access updates.
- Develop and update training materials, guides, and user resources.
- Assess user proficiency and recommend additional EHR or technical training as needed.
- Provide one-on-one and group support to improve end-user system utilization.
Other Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and all organizational privacy and security policies.
- Participate in meetings, training, and departmental initiatives as assigned.
- Support operational goals by prioritizing tasks and meeting established deadlines.
- Perform additional duties and special projects assigned by leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Informatics, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional healthcare or business environment.
- Proficiency with Epic, Centricity, or other Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems preferred.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and reporting/analytics tools.
- Strong communication, training, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel to various organizational sites within Connecticut and perform prolonged computer, phone, and desk-related work, including occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
