About the Role
Key Resposibilities
- Update andmaintainall electronic medical recordsin EPIC
- Record patient information such as vital signs, EKGS, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Work in the front office,performingtasks such as answering phone callsand greeting patients asthey enter the facility
- Scheduling Appointments for patients
- Point of Care Testing (examples: Urinalysis; Strep Throat Swab samples; Blood Glucose; Pregnancy Tests)
- Assistwith provider exams (set up for papsmears,wound care)
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GEDrequired. Certificate of graduation from an accredited school for Medical Assistants or certification as a Nursing Assistant from the State of Connecticut Department of Health is required. Phlebotomy Certification (National Phlebotomy Association or National Healthcare Association) is preferred. Current CPR certification from the American Heart
- Ability to communicate and work with individuals who have health/social problems.
- Computer skills arerequiredwith the ability to learn EPIC and Outlook.
- Excellent customerservicesskills and the ability to accept supervision and assigned responsibilities are necessary.
- Must be able todemonstratecompetency in performing all vital signs.
- Ability to read and write legibly in English andcomprehendbasic health information is essential.
- Bilingual individual desirable.
