Hours Required: Monday – Friday, 8am to 4:30pm with OT, weekends, and coverage for other shifts as required.

Position Description: This position assists the supervisor in leading and managing the team and the warehousing process. The performance indicators are Safety, Quality, Cost, Lead Time, Involvement, and Environment. This position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure the warehouse is as efficient and safe as possible.

 

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the safety and productivity of employees;
  • Monitor security of facilities during designated shift hours;
  • Monitor product quality according to defined standards;
  • Verify that equipment, grounds and walls are clean according to GMP standards; 
  • Monitor compliance of quality processes and procedures, immediately correct or report if out of specification and complete non-conformance form;
  • Coordinate staffing needs according to Warehouse schedule, communicate with Staffing Agencies; 
  • Assess skills and provide, or schedule, any training needs where deficient to be sure that employees understand how to set and adjust the equipment settings and all operational procedures;
  • Participate, support and lead employees in the continuous improvement process; 
  • Oversee the operations and processes, monitor the proper functioning of the warehouse procedures and equipment to meet department objectives;
  • Ensure that equipment and materials are ready for startup prior to scheduled start time;
  • Analyze the cases picked data to review picking results, develop and implement corrective actions for improvement; 
  • Work closely with other departments (materials management, production, maintenance, processing and quality) to meet requirements; 
  • Conduct or have team complete physical inventories;
  • Confirm that Material Handlers are checking the quality of incoming and outgoing materials and product;
  • Develop and improve procedures, SOPs and other instructions according to needs and oversee their application;
  • Analyze the daily results, lead shift meetings to communicate quantitative and quality objectives and results;
  • Assign resources based on objectives data and supply chain constraints;
  • Enter data and indicators for the daily department requirements;
  • Communicate Warehouse issues or activities to the proper departments and management when necessary;
  • Assures all project requirements are properly scheduled;
  • Rotate employees according to any safety or quality concerns;
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement Process;
  • Follows all Quality policies & procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s);
  • Follows all Safety policies & procedures and participates in monthly observations.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position works closely with the supervisor to lead employees but has no direct reports.

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a manufacturing environment with the following conditions;


Consistent exposure to cold climate 

Exposure to noise and vibration frequently

Exposure to wet conditions frequently


The use of steel-toed safety shoes, coveralls, safety glasses and hard hat is required.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Computer skills and basic knowledge of MS Excel, Outlook, and Word
  3. Mechanical Aptitude
  4. Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English
  5. 2+ years of warehouse experience


Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Strong Analytical Skills
  2. Experience with Continuous Improvement Process 
  3. 1-2 years’ experience in a leadership role
