This position works on the production floor and performs tasks involved in the production of the company’s product. These tasks include operating sit down forklift, pallet jack, and electric hand truck equipment to collect or deliver materials, parts or products in or between production lines, departments, buildings and trucks. This position has responsibility for knowing packaging requirements, how to supply packaging lines, and be able to maintain proper stock and flow of packaging on the production floor. Must be able to operate bailer, forklift, and electric jack and tow motor. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.  Major Duties & Responsibilities: - Keep lines supplied with packaging materials, using partial supplies and oldest stock first
- Reports shortage of packaging to receiving and supervisor
- Complete paperwork and follows proper procedure for rejection of supplies
- Monitor glue pots and level of stock, restock of packaging into box machines
- Maintain staging room and back warehouse in proper condition and organization
- Assures use of only carts and specific skids for packaging on the floor, proper pallets for stackers
- Assures proper condition and operation of tow motors, electric walkies and completes checklist;
- Ability to perform basic maintenance on job related equipment
- Able to recognize packaging flaws and issues to avoid non-conforming production
- Communicates professionally with all personnel about packaging needs and schedule changes and with dry good/shipping department regarding transfer of products
- Empties full bailer and throws out trash
- Removes finished goods to production trailer
- Unload and reload packaging trailer properly
- Assists on the production line when needed
- Completes paperwork with packaging date, lot codes and comments as warranted
- Calls for supplies when schedule is changed
- Keeps work areas clean (staging room, warehouse and cooler #1)
- Uses scanners to scan finished product (including actual count) into gun; verifies that count in gun matches the pallet sheet
- Removes supplies from production floor
- Participates in Continuous Improvement Process
- Follows all Quality policies & procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
- Follows all Safety policies & procedures and participates in monthly observations
- Maintains regular, predictable attendance
- Other duties as assigned

The use of steel-toed safety shoes, ear plugs. Hair/beard nets, lab coats, and other personal protective equipment is required.Â

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours vary depending on the shift and department. Overtime and weekend work is required at times. Vacation coverage as needed. Temporary change of shifts may be necessary for department coverage.
Requirements: - Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English
- 1 year or more of Forklift Experience & Certification
