We are looking for full-time welders to join our New Holstein team, with opportunities available on both second and third shift. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in the craft, enjoys working with a variety of materials, and wants to see quality parts take shape through their own work.
At Metko, you will have the opportunity to weld components made from mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum while contributing to custom metal-fabrication projects for customers across a range of industries.
Available Shifts
First Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Second Shift:Â Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Third Shift: Sunday evening through Friday morning, 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
Training for the third-shift position will temporarily take place on first or second shift before transitioning to the regular third-shift schedule.
What You'll Do
- Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components.
- Set up and operate welding equipment for assigned work.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications.
- Determine weld requirements for custom-fabricated components.
- Produce quality metal-fabricated parts according to work orders and drawings.
- Inspect completed work for quality and dimensional conformance.
- Follow established safety and quality procedures.
- Complete production and quality documentation.
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and ready for the next job.
- Work alongside teammates to meet customer expectations for quality and delivery.
What Will Help You Succeed
- Current proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, or both.
- Pride in producing clean, consistent, high-quality welds.
- Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel, or aluminum.
- The ability to read blueprints and understand common weld symbols - or a willingness to continue developing those skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to inspect work using measuring equipment and drawings.
- A dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented approach.
- Clear communication and good problem-solving skills.
- A strong commitment to safe work practices.
- An interest in production welding and hands-on manufacturing.
Welders at different stages of their careers are encouraged to apply. One or more years of current MIG and/or TIG welding experience is preferred, and completion of an accredited technical-college welding program is a plus.
