FlexStaff is currently hiring a part time  Behavioral Intervention Specialist to join our client's team. This candidate will be working in Queens reporting into the Coordinator of Behavioral Services. 

Pay: 28.65 an hour

Shift: Monday-Friday (may include some work weekends)

Position Summary:

Works in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary (IDT) team. Responsible for behavioral assessments and behavioral support plans. Must be able to present psychotropic medications, restrictive behavioral support plans, provide individual/group counseling & staff training to the Human Rights Committee. 

Requirements:

  1. Level 1 BIS: Master's Degree in clinical or treatment field of Psychology. Documented training in assessment techniques. At least 5 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. 
  2. Level 2: BIS: Masters Degree in clinical or community psychology or similar degrees, certs, or license approved by OPWDD (Office of people with Developmental Disabilities) Must have 1 year but less then 5 years experience providing behavioral services to individuals with developmental disabilities. 
  3. Must have strong oral and written skills
  4. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  5. Ability to travel to multiple locations (Must Drive)
  6. Must be flexible with scheduling and hours provided. May need to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  7. Must be available for on-call behavioral service coverage via cell phone. This includes weekends/Holiday coverage & will rotate throughout the behavioral department. 
  8. Will adhere to agency policies and procedures which are time care, corporate compliance, sexual harassment & cultural sesitivity.
  9. Responsible for all job responsibilities. This includes but not limited to all applicable laws, regulations, rules, procedures and policies. Must adhere to agency's corporate compliance program, the NYs and federal false claims act, mandatory reporting and whistleblower protections. All hires are required to complete corporate compliance training at least annually & must be available for compliance reviews and investigations.
