Position Purpose:Ā  Ā 

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of inbound and outbound materials to support production and customer delivery requirements. This position serves as a key link between production, customer service, warehouses, carriers, and customers to ensure products are shipped accurately, cost-effectively, and on time. The role also supports inventory accuracy, transportation troubleshooting, documentation compliance, and plant administrative activities to help maintain efficient day-to-day operations.

Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities

  • Review customer orders, production schedules, and inventory availability to coordinate outbound shipment plans
  • Coordinate with carriers, customer service, production, and shipping personnel to schedule pickups and deliveries and ensure customer requirements are met
  • Monitor shipment status, track freight movement, and proactively communicate delays, missed pickups, or service concerns
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documentation including bills of lading, shipping labels, carrier paperwork, and customer portal uploads
  • Maintain accurate transportation records and ensure documentation is completed and filed in accordance with company and customer requirements
  • Assist with freight quoting, carrier selection, and transportation cost tracking as needed
  • Support inventory and warehouse activities by coordinating product availability and shipment readinessĀ 
  • Work with internal departments to resolve order discrepancies, damaged shipments, delivery issues, and other logistics-related concernsĀ 
  • Analyze shipping trends and identify opportunities to improve delivery performance, efficiency, and customer service
  • Provide administrative support to plant leadership as needed, including reporting and coordination of special projects
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, PPE requirements, and applicable transportation regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business objectives

Education, Skills and Abilities

  • Associates degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, customer service, or supply chain operations preferred
  • Strong computer proficiency, including intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • SAP or ERP system experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage changing deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain environments preferred
  • APICS certification or related supply chain certification is a plus
