Produce Manager

Berkot's is seeking Produce Manager applicants for our New Lenox location. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Staffing, hiring, and training all produce department employees
• Merchandising displays and special buy in’s
• Ensuring Department is up to Safety and Health Code Standards
• Understanding company financials and Produce Departments impact
• Responsible for order all products from multiple vendors.
• Ability to effectively communicate via phone call, text message, and email in a timely manner.
• Maintaining appropriate inventory levels and ensuring minimal loss in the Produce Department
• Maintain a broad knowledge of produce products
• Handle employee relation issues within your departments, partnering with store managers and HR department when needed to address issues.
• Helping with company events as pertains to produce department
• Other duties assigned as see fit
• Scheduling for Produce Department
• Keeping department clean and fresh up to Berkot standards

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience working in Grocery Retail, Specifically Produce department
• Ability to stand for 5 hours
• Ability to lift 40lbs
• Valid driving license
