As a Laboratory Technician, this role will be accountable to perform, document, and communicate results of routine and semi-routine analytical testing of in process, finished goods and lab reliability samples as well raw materials including COA evaluations.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all documented safety procedures.
  • Actively participate in safety efforts and to meet the laboratory responsibilities for plant emergency response, including driving the emergency vehicle.
  • Perform, document, and communicate results of routine and semi-routine analytical testing of in process, finished goods and lab reliability samples as well raw materials including COA evaluations.
  • Calibrate and maintain instruments under the preventive maintenance and reliability programs.
  • Participate in the electronic disposition of finished goods and to confirm lot numbers in Sample Manager and SAP.
  • Perform housekeeping of laboratory facilities, including restocking of supplies.
  • Work as part of a team effort to maintain the productivity of the shift.
  • Perform special duties and projects as requested by supervision.
  • Assist in providing support for customers special needs.
  • Implement and participate in applicable Quality management requirements.
  • Work in a safe and organized fashion with emphasis on minimizing chemical exposure potential.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects in the normal workday on 12-hour shift.
  • Provide quality test results in a timely manner.
  • Use Sample Manager and SAP to meet product requirements.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance testing and quality systems.
  • Motivated and self-directed.
  • Review and statistically comprehend analytical data.
  • Availability for unscheduled, off-hours consultation and/or call-in work with little or no notice.
  • Participate in Fire and Gas Emergency team training and activities.
  • Ability to determine if the sample tested meets the requirements documented.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a chemistry or biology related field
  • Lab experience

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of algebra and computers
  • Ability to drive the Emergency Vehicle (Fire Truck)
  • Ability to adjust to a rotating shift schedule (12 hour)
  • Capability to interact with others in a positive and professional team environment.
  • Fulfill all department requirements (training, experience and testing) for the position.
  • Must meet or exceed performance level requirements.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety in all aspects of their duties and in their interaction with their coworkers.
