Customer Service & Inside Sales Support Representative

Interior Exterior Building Supply, a leading commercial and residential building material supplier in the Southeast, is looking for a Customer Service & Inside Sales Support Representative to join our team in New Orleans, LA!

What This Job Is Really About

Our Customer Service team is at the center of our branch operations. You’ll be the person customers can count on when they call or walk through the door—helping with orders, answering questions, coordinating deliveries, and making sure their needs are taken care of from start to finish.

This is not a cold-calling or commission-based sales position. Instead, you’ll work directly with customers and alongside our Outside Sales Representatives and Branch Management to keep orders moving and provide outstanding service.

What You’ll Do

• Welcome and assist commercial and residential customers who visit the branch
• Answer incoming customer calls and assist customers with questions, orders, and requests
• Enter customer orders accurately into our computer system
• Provide customers with product information, pricing, order status, and availability
• Assist Outside Sales Representatives and Branch Management with customer orders and requests
• Coordinate customer deliveries and communicate delivery information to customers
• Follow orders through the shipping and delivery process
• Communicate with warehouse, shipping, delivery, purchasing, and other departments to ensure customer needs are met
• Resolve customer questions and issues quickly and professionally
• Maintain accurate paperwork, order information, and department communication
• Follow up with customers when needed to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time
• Manage multiple customer requests and priorities in a fast-paced branch environment
• Build positive, professional relationships with customers and coworkers

• Be able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Have a strong sense of urgency and follow-through
• Be dependable and team-oriented
• Be comfortable working with computers and learning new systems
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office
• Have a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Have previous customer service, order entry, inside sales support, building materials, construction, contractor supply, or related experience preferred

Experience in building materials or the construction industry is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person!
