The Department of Comparative Medicine (DCM) supports the research activities of Tulane University faculty, staff, and students by fostering a comprehensive program of quality animal care. The Animal Care Technician I is an intermediate level position that builds skills in providing husbandry and care to a variety of laboratory animals. The ACT I position works under supervision until deemed proficient by the supervisor.



Employees in the classification may be required to work with, take specific precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents. Required to work weekend, holiday, and emergency work schedules. This position is considered essential personnel.
