Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides business management support to the Operations team such as; Purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contract development, and invoice payments;
  • Tracks and monitors budget allocations and runs expenditure reports;
  • Tracks and manages change orders aligned with board policy and vendor contracts as needed;
  • Tracks account numbers on invoices, requisitions, purchase orders and billings;
  • Supports grant management needs by providing expenditure reports or other business office needs of the granting agency;
  • Assists vendors with system registration, and payable inquiries;
  • Assists in charter school transformation and school move processes when needed, as well as turnover of new buildings to charter school lessees;
  • Supports real estate and property transactions such as; short term leases of unoccupied property, managing appraisal process and coordination with District’s real estate vendor or other property development agencies as needed; and
  • Performs other duties as required.


Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree in business, Finance or Accounting, or relevant discipline or a minimum of 3 years of experience related to business management, operations planning, or property management.
  • Experience overseeing K-12 school operations or business management services strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of budgets and familiarity with financial software such as Munis;
  • Must have proficiency using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Access (or other equivalent database experience).

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task;
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills;
  • Excellent conflict resolution and consensus building skills.

- Normal setting for this job is an office/school setting.     


Performance Evaluation

The employee will be evaluated based on the above position using either two methods: via COMPASS or a NOLA-PS evaluating instrument. If the employee holds an Educational Leadership certification, he/she will be evaluated via COMPASS to ensure renewal of certification.
