Here are some of the ways that volunteers can support CHNO: Help the Food Services Team Assist with our Residential Services Programming Stock and organize our clothing room, where youth can pick out their own clothes, jackets, and shoes Mentor youth and assist with job skill training Assist in setting up spaces for events and other initiatives Gardening Volunteers Healthcare Support Volunteer Help organize supplies Assist in our offices many more opportunities are available, please share your ideas! The process of becoming a volunteer at CHNO is very similar to becoming an employee, with a series of chats, interviews and background checks. That’s not just to safeguard the youth we serve, but also to make sure we really understand who our volunteers are and what opportunities could best fit them. Our work continues because thousands of quiet heroes like you believe in Covenant House’s mission and that young people should not be homeless and alone. There are many ways you can get involved in the Covenant House movement and help young people impacted by homelessness and trafficking. QualificationsIndividuals All new individual volunteers/ interns must complete our onboarding process prior to signing up for volunteer opportunities and should be at least 21 years old. Applicants under the age of 21 will need to follow the group volunteer/ intern process. Groups Whether it’s with through your educational institution, friends, colleagues, or your congregation or social organization, there is always a way for your group to help our youth.Â
