The Door Person will be the first and last point of contact for guests, setting the tone for a memorable stay. The role’s responsibilities include warmly greeting arrivals, assisting with door management, and providing information about property amenities and services. The Door Person will ensure a smooth and welcoming entry experience, offer personalized assistance, and maintain the highest standards of hospitality and professionalism. This role is essential in creating a refined and inviting atmosphere that enhances the overall guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintains an upbeat and positive attitude, creates positive energy with gestures and sustains enthusiasm from one interaction to the next.Â
- Creates an atmosphere of luck and celebrates guest’s wins. Is ready to serve and is informed of daily information; builds relationships by greeting guests with a warm, friendly verbal greeting.Â
- Anticipates needs and provides fast, flawless service.Â
- Greet and escort guests to the hotel front desk in the absence of a Bell Person.Â
- Open doors and assist guests/visitors entering and leaving property.Â
- Inform guests/visitors of property amenities, services, and hours of operation, and local areas of interest and activities.Â
- Identify and explain hotel features to guests/residents (e.g., valet process and parking rules.)
- Assist guests in and out of vehicles, including assisting them with loading/unloading luggage.Â
- Assist guests in locating and/or transporting packages.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.Â
- Lay out safety signage in public areas and Porte cochere during extreme weather as well as laying out mats inside the Cathedral and providing umbrellas on the front drive.
- Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.Â
- Inform 3rd party vendors and delivery drivers that they are to enter through security.Â
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.Â
- Speak to team member and guests using clear and professional language.Â
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.Â
- Checks for satisfaction and effectively resolves service breakdowns when they exist. Promotes Total Rewards programs and card membership.Â
- Provides a warm farewell and thanks guests for visiting.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Management.
- Maintains a clean work area, this includes, but not limited to, seating areas, front doors etc.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Door Person or Bell Desk position is preferred.Â
- A minimum of one year guest service experience in a position where the primary job duty is direct customer contact, with the ability to provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to guests every time.Â
- Ability to lift heavy baggage up to 100 pounds.Â
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.Â
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.Â
- Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work as a team.Â
- Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift.Â
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Ability to read, write and speak in English
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work and quickly maneuver inside and outside, sometimes in temperatures in excess of 105 degrees and as cold as 10 degrees. Â
- Must be able to run on all types of surfaces, as well as, up and down stairs. Â
- Must be able to drive all types of passenger vehicles with automatic or manual transmissions in a safe fashion.Â
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. Â
- Able to work independently.Â
- Able to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch and lift objects that weigh up to 100 pounds.Â
- Able to push and/or pull heavy rolling loads more than 300 pounds.Â
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.Â
