ABOUT HOTEL SAINT VINCENT (STV): Located in a landmark 1861 building in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans, Hotel Saint Vincent is a 75-room hotel from Austin-based hospitality group McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality, a hotel started in 2021 by industry veterans Larry McGuire, Tom Moorman, and Liz Lambert. An architectural icon in the Lower Garden District since its conception in the 1860s, the red brick Beaux Arts-era style building was originally founded as The Saint Vincent’s Infant Asylum by Irish immigrant Margaret Haughery, a bakery owner and philanthropist celebrated for her humanitarian services in New Orleans. The following benefits are available to full-time employees: Dental Insurance Health Insurance Life Insurance Vision Insurance Holiday pay after 90 days of employment PTO Employee discounts at our restaurants  JOB SUMMARY: Rate of Pay $20.00 Hourly Responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of the entire hotel property, interior, exterior, and grounds in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Responsibilities: Plan, implement, and ensure completion of preventive maintenance and safety measures on all hotel equipment and room assets per timeline. Understanding electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and electronic systems Experience in painting Troubleshooting problems on various types of equipment Knowing equipment safety systems and processes Keeping the grounds and landscaping neat and clean Responsible for all Interior and Exterior asset maintenance and protections Works very closely with the Other departments to ensure the guest experience is a top priority Respond to maintenance issues around the property Maintain the pool, pool area, and pool maintenance Inventory check on light bulbs, paint, gas, equipment, nails, screws, etc. Other Assigned Duties Qualifications Hotel Experience Preferred Good practical and technical skills Communication skills An understanding of engineering drawings and principles The ability to work quickly and under pressure The ability to manage a varied workload Good problem-solving skills The initiative to work on your own or as part of a team An awareness of health and safety legislation Good eyesight and normal color vision Equivalent work experience or advanced vocational training is a plus Basic computer skills are necessary Facility maintenance skills, knowledge of proper chemical handling, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and small appliance repair skills are required
