Effective vector biology study and management requires the development and application of maintenance of arthropod colonies and application of the most up to date methodologies to interrogate their biology. The Department of Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease is seeking to hire a new faculty member in the research track at an assistant professor level. The faculty member in this position is expected have a strong background in entomology and both field and laboratory experience in sample collection and maintenance of colonies. They will have also demonstrated basic genetic and molecular skills demonstrated by creative projects carried through to publications. This faculty member will be eligible to advise Ph.D. students and others at all levels should they have the resources to support this training. This faculty member will be able to produce 50% of their salary support in the first year with the remainder provided by the Department and teaching of a class, if this is available. As a research assistant professor, this individual will be responsible of 100% of salary in subsequent years.
