Job DetailsJob Location: Hotel Saint Vincent Nola - New Orleans, LA 70130Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: NoneTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: AnyJob Category: Hospitality - HotelESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Sorting and rinsing dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through the dish machine Sorting and stacking clean dishes; carrying clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas; rewashing soiled dishes before delivering Changing dishwater in dish machine every hour Washing pots, pans, and trays by hand Removing trash and garbage and bringing it to the dumpster Setting up and breaking-down dishwashing area Filling/emptying soak tubs with cleaning and sanitizing solutions Sweeping/mopping floors Assembling/disassembling dish machine SUPPORTIVE JOB FUNCTIONS: Sweeping up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster Cleaning and rolling/unrolling mats Performing inventory of cleaning solutions on hand and reporting any low items to supervisor Performing general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed Wiping up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry Notifying Manager anytime dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures Performing other duties as assigned Including early morning, night, weekend, and holiday availability. Ability to work in a hot, hectic environment + stand, walk, bend, use hands and appliances, and lift heavy items for extended periods Ability to understand and follow written and or verbal instructions Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of who will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information  Ability to read English language sufficient to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes, and luggage up to 50 lbs continuously throughout shift. Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.  Sufficient manual dexterity in one hand to be able to load and unload luggage. Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping kneeling, and walking significant distances on property.
