Zachary, LA Critical Care / ICU Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Locum Tenens Opportunity | Days | Long-Term Contract
Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Critical Care/ICU experience for a long-term locum tenens assignment in Zachary, Louisiana.
This is an excellent opportunity for skilled Advanced Practice Providers ready to step into a dynamic hospital medicine program with procedural requirements and ICU patient care responsibilities.

Facility Type: Community Hospital | 131 Total Beds | 8 ICU Beds
Contract Type: Locum Tenens – Advanced Practice Provider (Critical Care / ICU)
Schedule:
• 12-hour Day Shifts | 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Minimum 15 shifts/month (flexible scheduling available)Start Date: June 30, 2025
Assignment Length: Long Term (6+ Months)
Credentialing: Temps available | 4–6 weeks (with LA license in hand)
Clinical Responsibilities
Full-spectrum ICU patient management
Perform and manage:
• Intubations
• Vent management
• Central lines
• Arterial lines (as needed)Respond to codes in collaboration with Hospital Medicine and Emergency Medicine teams
Daily census: 18–20 patients per provider | 2 admissions/day
Team Structure
Day Coverage: 2 MDs + 2 APPs
Night Coverage: 1 MD | No overnight APPs
Open ICU with CC-APPs on-site and tele-intensivist backup
HM physicians oversee CC-APP team
Subspecialty Backup: General Surgery, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Nephrology, Tele-Stroke
Candidate Requirements
License: Active Louisiana APP License (or eligibility)
Certification: AANP (for NPs) or NCCPA (for PAs)
Additional Certifications: ACLS required
Experience: Advanced critical care/ICU experience including proficiency with required procedures
