SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the property's general condition in terms of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and painting. Additional functions include completing maintenance request work orders on a timely basis and participating in the preventive maintenance program for all building equipment and rooms. 

This position is eligible for a $500 sign-on bonus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain general maintenance of the exterior and interior of the property building 
  • Complete work orders promptly, including on-call requests
  • Demonstrate the ability to resolve maintenance issues to prevent a recurrence
  • Maintain inventory to ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are available on-site
  • Inspect and test machinery and maintenance equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment; report unsafe conditions to the supervisor and recommend corrective action
  • Partner with external vendors, contractors, and other maintenance team members on special projects 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities

  • HVAC certification preferred
  • Residential/apartment maintenance experience preferred
  • General residential maintenance skills - A/C, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, electronics, drywall installation, and finishing, including Porter duties, are required
  • Must be able to work on-call maintenance shifts
  • Must be a self-starter, proactive, and can work independently
  • Ability to control inventory and order as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. or greater at a time
  • Must be able to cover a variety of properties with stairs and conduct tours in various weather conditions
