POSITION SUMMARY

The Final Assembly Technician plays a critical role in the production process by carefully and correctly labeling and boxing finished products, as well as reviewing completed products for adherence to defined inspection criteria. A successful Final Assembly Technician emphasizes the meticulous examination of product and applies housekeeping and record retention best practices while maintaining the seamless flow of production units.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to) 

  • Identify components as prescribed by the engineering Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings depicting proper component placement and packaging techniques.
  • Carefully apply appropriate labels and accessories to semi-completed products of various shapes and sizes.
  • Use custom templates within labeling software package to create unique, serialized labels for products.
  • Perform assembly and installation of plumbing, instrumentation, and electronic accessories.
  • Package completed product in appropriate cartons, ensuring careful handling.
  • Palletize and queue completed products for stocking or shipping.
  • Observe and promote housekeeping best practices by maintaining orderly storage locations for accessory components.
  • Record and maintain electronic records using a handheld scanner.
  • Identify and report non-conforming product to supervisor and Quality Control personnel.
  • Quarantine observed non-conforming product and advise on necessary repair measures.
  • Collaborate with fellow production workers to ensure timely delivery of completed product.
  • Operate various moving equipment such as forklifts, cranes, specialized chains and slings.
  • Observe and practice safety procedures and policies.
  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1 or more years of experience in a similar production work environment
  • Previous experience fabricating electronic assemblies and/or plumbing assemblies desired

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT WILL REQUIRE

  • Ability to lift 45 lbs on a daily basis
  • Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting and occasional crawling
  • Ability to climb and perform work at elevated heights
  • Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of materials
  • Possible exposure to metal cutting, welding flash, welding odors, temperature change and chemical odors
