As the cook at Westfields Hospital & Clinic, you will perform a variety of patient food services that includes:

  • Preparing, seasoning and cooking food for the hospital and clinic patients, staff and visitors, and ensures that meals are ready at specified times. 
  • Determining types and quantities of meats, vegetables, and soups to be prepared by reviewing planned menus. 
  • Determining amount of foods needed to meet weekly menus and submits order to the department manager or designee. 
  • Preparing fruit and vegetables using kitchen hand utensils. 
  • Preparing special diet foods as needed. 
  • Arranging plates in an appetizing manner.
  • Measuring and mixing ingredients according to approved recipes using blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, etc.

Work Schedule:

  • 24 hours weekly / .6 FTE
  • Part-time
  • Weekday shifts vary between 11:30a-7:30pm and 9:30a-5:30p
  • Every 3rd weekend 11:30a-7:30p

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. 
  • Ability to calculate measurements in recipes to increase or decrease servings required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in hospital food preparation preferred
  • Food sanitation certificate preferred
