Job DetailsJob Location: Richmond - Fleetwood, PA 19522Position Type: Part TimeTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: DayJob Title: Kitchen Lead Hourly Rate: $18 FLSA Status:  Part Time   Non-Exempt     Reports to: Child Care Center Director        POSITION SUMMARY: The YMCA Kitchen Lead performs all the needs of preparing, serving, and planning for meal programs within the branch.  This position supports all aspects of the children’s nutrition program within the childcare programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Center Director the Kitchen Lead shall: 1.    Conduct the duties of this position in a manner that is consistent with and follows all YMCA Personnel, ServSafe and Child Care Policies; including the State Regulations for Child Care Centers, the Character Traits of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. 2.    Planning and cooking nutritious meals as per CACFP guidelines. 3.    Maintaining a clean and healthy kitchen as per ServSafe regulations. 4.    Providing budgeting information and requesting necessary equipment 5.    Managing and maintaining food and storage inventories. 7.    Verifying and completing necessary paperwork.  8.    Attend trainings, be familiar with and adhere to policies relating to Risk Management 9.    Report all concerns regarding the children, program and co-workers to the Center Director in a timely manner. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: 1.    At least one year of institutional cooking food ordering experience highly desirable 2.    Possess a Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain 3.    Knowledge of proper conditions of food storage and serving. 4.    The ability to understand the needs of children with food allergies, and to implement methods of food cross-contamination avoidance. 5.    Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare sufficient quantity of foods for center population 6.    Basic math skills required for measuring and calculating serving portions 7.    Two or more years of experience working with children, highly desirable 8.    Must be physically able to use the computer with basic proficiency and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds is strongly desired and may be required to work in some classrooms or in the kitchen. 9.    Ability to speak, read, and write English.
