Position Summary


The Press Operator is responsible for operating hydraulic press equipment and supporting production operations to manufacture high-quality products safely and efficiently. This role ensures production equipment is running properly, monitors product quality, prepares materials, packages finished goods, and maintains a clean and organized work environment.

Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate hydraulic press equipment according to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Prepare product mixtures and raw materials for production.
  • Operate packaging equipment and monitor machine performance throughout production.
  • Regulate machine flow and make minor adjustments to maintain efficient operation.
  • Stop, reset, and clear machine jams or minor malfunctions while escalating larger issues to Production Leadership.
  • Inspect products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
  • Verify product weights and measurements to maintain quality standards.
  • Remove defective products and packaging materials from production.
  • Package finished products, stack and label boxes, and prepare pallets for storage or shipment.
  • Track raw material usage, waste, damaged materials, and shortages.
  • Assist with inventory cycle counts for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Support production line setup, startup, changeovers, shutdowns, and equipment cleaning.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout each shift.
  • Report safety concerns, equipment issues, forklift concerns, or material shortages to Production Leadership.
  • Cross-train and assist other production lines or departments as business needs require.
  • Properly wear and utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Requirements

What We're Looking For


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1–3 years of manufacturing or production experience preferred.
  • Experience operating production machinery or hydraulic press equipment is a plus.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to use common hand tools.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions and work orders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and safety awareness.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Stand and walk for up to 12-hour shifts.
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive bending, twisting, reaching, grasping, and overhead movements.
  • Work safely around industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment that may include dust, grease, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Wear all required PPE throughout the shift.
