Description
Job Purpose: A Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. A Maintenance Technician will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility. An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Summary of Essential Job Duties: Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
- Assembling, installing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.         Â
- Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance.           Â
- Reading, interpreting, and following instructions, blueprints, and operation manuals.  Â
- Maintaining a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
- Cleaning, repairing and installing equipment and parts as needed.     Â
- Operating a variety of hand and power tools.              Â
- Read a variety of meters and instrumentation.              Â
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.              Â
- Complying with health and safety regulations.              Â
- Performing general maintenance work on buildings as assigned.             Â
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED.               Â
- 5+ years of mechanical and electrical experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role.        Â
- Trade or vocational school graduation preferred.              Â
- Knowledge of and ability to operate hand and power tools.             Â
- Mechanical aptitude and ability.               Â
- Strong computer skills.                Â
- Physical dexterity.               Â
- Good mechanical and electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.           Â
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.             Â
- Forklift mechanical knowledge a plus.
