Led by the firm’s first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs is backed by momentum and a broad imperative to unify the discipline, driving a business-critical function focused on the firm’s future growth. As such, Global Marketing is focused on building out a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization consists of Corporate Reputation Marketing and business marketing teams, as well as center of excellence (COE) teams like paid media, research, and design. Together, these functions collaborate to build a unified, scalable, and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings. The COO group within Global Marketing is responsible for operations, strategy, finance, and marketing strategy, transformation, and operations, setting direction for the function, partnering with the CMO on top-priority initiatives, technology and innovation (e.g., AI, automation), transformation, and ensuring executional excellence. As GS continues to invest in its marketing team, it is critical that we develop a firmwide process for strategies specifically focused on: AI and innovation, finance, operational excellence, and vendor management. 

Role Summary

The Strategy & Operations Sr. Analyst / Associate role will partner with the COO leadership team, as well as the marketing senior leadership team, to support across a range of strategy initiatives (e.g., AI and transformation roadmap and pilots), culture and comms projects (e.g., planning and executing on Town Halls, team events), and operations priorities (e.g., budgeting, planning, and tracking). Reporting into the COO team’s VP of Marketing Strategy and working closely with the COO Team’s VP of Marketing Operations, this Associate will help translate the firm’s strategic and operational priorities into action.

This role requires a highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented individual with exceptional communication, project management, problem-solving, and leadership skills. This individual will independently manage complex projects, prioritize competing demands, and ensure seamless execution of key initiatives. This position demands a high level of discretion, confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization both within and outside of the business. The Associate will synthesize inputs from stakeholders across the firm—strategy, analytics, engineering, legal, risk, compliance, privacy, information security, and marketing domain teams—to structure workstreams, sequence delivery, and articulate program milestones and outcomes for senior management. The role will contribute to executive-ready communications and dashboards that clarify value, risk posture, and progress against objectives.

Position Responsibilities

  • AI Transformation: Partner with leaders across the marketing function to implement a transformation and innovation roadmap, including scoping, piloting, onboarding, and integrating AI into marketing workflows. Stay on top of trends that influence the space of marketing and automation. Synthesize findings and coordinate with teams to get perspectives. 
  • Process Development & Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and increase team effectiveness. Drive automation and digitization initiatives to improve operational efficiencies. 
  • Project Management: Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals. This involves coordinating amongst team members, stakeholders, and cross functional partners including but not limited to delegating tasks, identifying and escalating any risks, and managing timelines. 
  • Meeting Preparation: Prepare agendas, speaking notes, presentation slides, and briefing memos for internal team meetings (e.g. townhalls, leadership meetings). Track and manage action items. 
  • Special Projects: Undertake and oversee ad hoc projects and events including leadership onsites, senior stakeholder initiatives, and Global townhalls.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 6 years in operations, project management, strategy, or consulting role, with direct experience managing complex projects from start to finish 
  • Bachelor Degree (BA/BS); graduate degree optional
  • Hands-on experience managing high level, strategic deliverables and programs within the innovation and AI space, engineering or development background a plus
  • Roadmapping and portfolio skills: comfort with building detailed project plans across a portfolio of projects
  • Experience producing high-level, strategic deliverables for stakeholder updates 
  • Comfort with cross-functional collaboration and project management 
  • Experience in Financial Services industry or highly regulated industry, and/or Marketing function preferred

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
