Our menus reflect this attention to bringing nutritious, delicious food to those who need it most.  Position Overview ***Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment*** The Packaging Commis Chef plays a critical role in the final stage of meal production, ensuring that fresh, ready-to-eat meals are packaged accurately, safely, and efficiently for delivery. Working in a refrigerated environment, this role is responsible for maintaining food quality, following strict food safety standards, and executing packaging processes in alignment with production goals. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.  Responsibilities Packaging & Order Fulfillment – 50% Package ready-to-eat meals into trays and seal for delivery according to work orders Ensure accuracy of meal components, portioning, and labeling Maintain product quality, presentation, and consistency during packaging Work efficiently to meet daily production targets in a refrigerated environment Food Safety, Sanitation & Compliance – 20% Adhere to all company policies, GMPs, and food safety guidelines Maintain proper hygiene and safe food handling practices Ensure packaging processes meet safety and quality standards Handle ingredients and allergens according to food safety standards Inventory Handling & FIFO Management – 10% Maintain cooler and dry storage areas using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles Support proper storage, rotation, and handling of ingredients and finished goods Monitor product integrity during storage and staging SOP Execution & Process Consistency – 10% Follow and execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) daily Assist in training on packaging procedures and workflows as needed Ensure consistency in processes across shifts Team Collaboration & Communication – 10% Communicate clearly with team members and leadership Coordinate with production and cold line teams to ensure smooth workflow Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude in a high-volume environment QualificationsRequired Qualifications Ability to work in refrigerated rooms 1+ year of high-volume food production, packaging, or warehouse experience Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50+ lbs Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Preferred Qualifications NY Food Handler’s Certificate/Card Bilingual (English/Spanish) Experience in commissary or large-scale food production kitchens Key Competencies Ensures accuracy in packaging, labeling, and portioning Meets production targets in a high-volume setting Maintains structured, clean, and efficient workspaces Collaborates effectively across departments Follows SOPs and maintains operational consistency Role Details Title: Commis Chef Location: East Williamsburg, Brooklyn Facility Schedule: Monday–Friday & Sunday shifts available starting as early as 6am Reports to: Executive Sous Chef Compensation: $19/hr Benefits Medical insurance Sick leave Paid time off that increases with tenure 401(k) Daily family meal  Potential for bonuses through our Green Shares employee bonus program Eligibility and details subject to company policy Green Top Farms is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
