Thuma is looking for a Barista to join our team. This position will play a pivotal role in the seamless functioning and overall success of Cafe Thuma on Wooster Street in Soho.

 

As a Thuma Barista, you'll be an integral part of creating a warm, inviting atmosphere, serving exceptional coffee, and providing top-notch customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be an extension of the Thuma retail team and create an environment where people like to spend time.  
  • Oversee daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages with precision and care.
  • Provide excellent customer service, creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere.
  • Engage with customers, take orders, and offer product recommendations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe area and equipment.
  • Uphold Thuma's commitment to ethical business practices, sustainability and 6-star customer service.
  • Work collaboratively with the cafe and retail team to ensure smooth cafe / retail operations.
  • Stay informed about Thuma products and promotions to assist customers effectively.


What You’ll Need
  • Based in New York City.
  • Previous experience as a Barista in a cafe or similar setting is preferred.
  • Passion for coffee and dedication to delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
  • This role requires availability to work on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays as needed.

$17 - $19.75 an hour
