We are looking for an Associate to join HSBC Innovation Banking – Credit Solutions. The role involves supporting underwriting and portfolio management activities by analysing financial statements and overall company performance, building and maintaining spreads and financial models, and running sensitivity analysis to inform credit decisions. Prepare credit applications and draft concept memos and other credit materials for deal leads and credit approvers. Take responsibility over portfolio reporting by reviewing monthly financials, tracking performance versus plan and cash runway, identifying emerging risks, and escalating issues and recommendations promptly. Contribute to internal and external meetings by preparing questions, materials, and insights; join calls and produce clear notes and follow-ups (including PR note distribution). Develop a strong understanding of the end-to-end sales and credit process, including deal structures and use cases, while collaborating across teams with a positive, adaptable, detail-oriented mindset aligned to HSBC/IVB values.

As our Associate you will:

  • Analyse financial statements and overall company performance
  • Prepare spreads, financial models, and sensitivity analysis to support underwrites/portfolio work
  • Complete credit applications and draft concept memos/credit materials for deal leads and credit approvers
  • Monitor a portfolio: review monthly financials, track performance vs plan/cash, and escalate risks/recommendations
  • Support internal/external meetings: prepare questions/materials/insights and participate where appropriate
  • Join internal/external calls and produce clear notes and follow-ups (e.g., PR note distribution)
  • Build understanding of the sales and credit process, including deal structures and use cases
  • Collaborate across the team with a positive, adaptable learning mindset aligned to HSBC values

 

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse financial statements and company performance, build/maintain spreads and financial models, and run sensitivity analysis to support underwriting and portfolio decisions
  • Experience (or clear capability) to actively manage a portfolio as secondary point of contact: digest monthly financials, track performance vs plan/cash, identify emerging risks, and escalate issues/recommendations to the deal lead in a timely way
  • Strong team-first behaviours: positive approach to support tasks, proactive relationship-building across teams
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities, and developing understanding of the VC/Venture Debt/Growth Equity market landscape and HSBC values
  • Detailed oriented

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
