About The Position

 Wellhart is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant for a locum tenens position at a multi-specialty clinic in New York. This 12-day assignment starts on 07/10/2025, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive emergency care in a critical access hospital, working 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM. Responsibilities include solo APP coverage with attending on-call support, managing an emergency department, performing advanced procedures, and handling admissions. The successful applicant should be comfortable with a full procedural skillset and be proficient with Medhost electronic health record system.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide independent emergency care coverage with on-call physician support

• Manage patients in a 24-bed emergency department

• Perform advanced procedures including ventilation management, intubation, and extubation

• Place central lines and manage critical care patients

• Handle core emergency department responsibilities

• Assist with inpatient order placement and admission management

• Utilize Medhost electronic health record system for documentation

• Collaborate with on-call emergency physicians as needed

• Adhere to emergency department protocols and best practices

• Demonstrate strong decision-making and clinical skills in a critical access setting

Additional Information:

• New York state PA license required

• Comfort with full procedural skillset essential

• Experience in solo APP coverage preferred

• Ability to work independently with on-call physician support
