Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

This role will support the strategic goals and day-to-day operations of the Events team. The candidate will be involved in the development, planning, and execution of all Brookfield led events, both in person and virtual, and the research and management of all external conferences in which Brookfield participates. This role is for someone who can take initiative and work closely with members of the global team on a variety of initiatives and offers an excellent opportunity for career development and growth in a highly dynamic and evolving work environment. The role requires creativity, energy, dynamism, and a positive attitude combined with diligence and vigilance. The successful candidate will be highly organized and detail oriented, with strong time management, leadership, and collaboration skills. 

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Brookfield Hosted Events

1. Support coordination of Brookfield hosted events

2. Assisting with logistics including venue & vendor research, catering, support materials, rooming lists, AV, set up and registration and on-site support as needed

3. Create and manage event invitations on Cvent, run registration reports as needed

4. Compile pre-and post-event documents (briefing memos, post-mortems)

Brookfield External Events

1. Support regional Events and Marketing head on annual conference strategy

2. Manage external conferences database

3. Manage participation logistics and sponsorship coordination (speaker registration & prep calls, rooming lists, client dinners/receptions)

4. Post-event reconciliation (survey, budgets, post-event reports)

Investor Day and Investor Conference

1. Supports the Events team to successfully execute three flagship conferences for ~500 clients / event

2. Identifying event material needs and placing orders with vendors - venue signage, catering orders, name badges, branded items, iPads, decor, etc.

3. Assisting in research of additional venue locations for cocktail receptions & dinners and coordinating logistics including menus, transportation, sourcing materials, seating arraignments, etc.

4. Reserving hotel room blocks and manage guest room lists and logistics

5. Assisting with onsite set up and logistics

6. Assisting with invitations

7. Compile pre- and post-event documents (briefing memos, post-mortems)

Candidate Profile:

  • A degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Events, or related field or equivalent work experience

  • 3-5 years’ professional experience   

  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong passion for planning events

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment, multi-task and prioritize

  • Organized, proactive and self-motivated individual

  • Ability to keep calm and problem solve quickly under high pressure moments

  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to deal effectively at all levels within the organization

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

  • Knowledge of event management software (Cvent) required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to stay focused, efficient, and effective in managing multiple priorities

  • Collaborative and Team player

  • Overtime as needed

Salary: $105,000 - $120,000

Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
