About the Role:
Micheli Bakery is looking for a talented and passionate AM Baker to join our team in the heart of New York, NY. If you love the art of baking and thrive in an early-morning, fast-paced kitchen environment, this is your opportunity to bring fresh, delicious creations to life every day.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, and baked goods during morning production shifts
- Follow established recipes and production schedules to ensure consistent quality and timely output
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately using commercial baking equipment
- Monitor oven temperatures, baking times, and product quality throughout the shift
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies and flagging low inventory
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth morning operations and on-time product availability
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a professional bakery, café, or food service environment preferred
- Ability to work early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of baking techniques, dough handling, and pastry production
- Familiarity with commercial baking equipment such as deck ovens, mixers, and proofers
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent product quality
- Food Handler's Certificate or ServSafe certification a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
